Somerford Youth and Community Centre:
And while we are on the subject of the Somerford Shed, we have received a request from the manager of the Youth Club (Jae Harris) to help them raise £10,000 to go towards activities and equipment. It is the trustees of the Youth Club who are offering us the use of the workshop, so it would be nice to show our appreciation of this by helping them to reach their target by the deadline. I have copied the email and link below:
Dear all

We are currently running a Crowdfunder campaign with a target of £10,000 to raise for activities and equipment for our young people at Somerford Youth and Community Centre.

As a centre we are proactive in delivering youth club activities, a safe space after school club, The Duke of Edinburgh Award, the UK Youth Achievement Award and a full time school holiday activity programme. We are the only youth organisation locally delivering all of these from one place.

This fundraising campaign is to help us acquire the funds we need towards meeting the delivery of these programmes, which improve the lives and opportunities for children and young people from the Christchurch community.

The campaign has got off to a flying start with some very humbling donations and a 50% pledge from Dorset County Council. However, we will only receive the funds if we are successful in reaching the target we have set and only have a month in which to do this.

If you are able to pledge an amount that would be truly fantastic but we would also ask if you would share this with friends, families, colleagues or groups with who you may have involvement with.
