Membership fees 2019

The 18 members who attended last weeks EGM at Greystone's House voted unanimously to increase CMS membership fees from £10 up to £15 / year. The reason for the increase is to help offset the additional operating costs for the new shed at Somerford which will to commence as soon as the lease is signed (hopefully in early April)!

Our 2019 membership fees are now due.

All existing and new members are required to sign.a new membership form (emailed to existing members) of can be sent on request. Additionally, if you are a UK tax payer, please sign the Gift Aid box on the form to allow us to claim it from HMRC (you must pay UK taxes as a minimum at 25% of £15 [£3.75] per year). Pease note that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is your responsibility to pay any difference. . Assuming 40 members all eligible to claim gift aid, this would generate an additional £150 per year in funds for CMS.

Also please note that the total fees payable will be of £17 - (£15 CMS membership plus £2 "capitation fee" which I have to pay to HCA)

Cheques should be made payable to Christchurch Men's Shed. If you choose to pay by cash, please try to have the correct money because if everyone comes with a £20 note, I soon run out of change! I will have copies of the membership form available if you are unable to print the attached document.

I am usually in the shed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and will plan to be at the Mudeford Club lunch on the 22nd March and also at our next general meeting at Greystone's House on Tuesday 2nd April.

Membership of HCA (Highcliffe Community Association)

In addition to being members of Christchurch Men's Shed, if you wish to attend meetings at Greystone's House or visit the shed, you also have to be a member of HCA. The HCA membership fee is £10 per year payable at the front reception desk at Greystone's House and gives access to all of the other activities and groups at Greystone's House. The membership fee for HCA helps cover the running costs at Greystone's house, electricity for our shed and insurance cover while we are in the building.

Please bring your 2019 HCA membership card to me for signature.

Looking forward through 2019 and onward:

2019 is going to be quite a year for CMS with the planned conversion of the Somerford building into a fantastic new workshop and meeting place - there will be opportunities for members to get involved at all levels of planning and implementation.

Our monthly Mudeford Club lunches continue to be well supported and we will be looking to organise further social events / visits to places of interest.

The workshop at Greystone's House remains available to all our members Monday to Friday for project work or just to drop by for a chat (popular times in the workshop are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from around 10.00 am) and we can expect that there will be more local community projects coming along for anyone who wants to get involved.

........so don't miss out, get your membership forms back to me and be part of Christchurch Men's Shed!
