NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2019

Members are invited to the Shed’s AGM to be held at 1.30 pm prompt on Tuesday 5th November 2019 in Room 1 Greystones House, Waterford Road, Christchurch, Dorset BH23 5JL. The AGM will close at 3.45 pm

Preface:

This will be the second Annual General Meeting of Christchurch Men’s Shed since it became a registered charity, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), on 11th October 2017.

One of the requirements of our constitution is that “At every subsequent annual general meeting of the members of the CIO, one third of the charity trustees shall retire from office”, however they are eligible to be re-elected provided they have not served for four consecutive terms. (Trustees who have served for four consecutive terms can be reappointed after an interval of at least one year)

The minimum number of trustees required by the constitution is three

Members are invited to stand for election as a trustee with appointment by a simple majority vote of members. Any members wishing to stand as a Trustee are advised to read the government and charity commission’s guidance on the role and liability of a trustee that can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/charity-trustee-whats-involved and should have registered their name with John Pegram, or via [email protected] or 07547 922246 by noon on 25th October 2019 as previously notified.

6.1 Barry Atkinson to resign as Trustee of CMS and stand for re-election as a Trustee and our founder member

6.2 Les Mercer will stand down as Chairman and Trustee and does not wish to stand for re-election in any role.

6.3 Bob Mackinnon will stand down as treasurer and stand for re-election as CMS Chairman
