- Chairman’s Report
Overview:
Richard Edwards resigned as a Trustee of CMS earlier in the year due to family commitments but continues to administer the CMS website.
Les Mercer will resign as Trustee and Chairman at today’s AGM to have more free time and less stress in retirement. Les has not been a regular in the workshop but has done a lot of background work for CMS such as registering CMS as a charity with the Charity Commission.

- Treasurer’s Report
There have been a limited number of financial transactions by CMS in the period 2018 – 2019 the most significant of which was the Solicitors Fees associated with the failed move to a workshop at Somerford.
With regard to the Somerford shed, the intransigence of Dorset Council delayed proceedings to the extent that the Youth Club withdrew their offer of the building which left CMS with solicitors costs (Frettens, Christchurch) to the sum of £1200 with nothing to show for all the work that had been undertaken up till then.
The failed move to Somerford was mentioned in the CMS annual report to the charity commission. The committee will approach the Old School house project with more caution.
CMS have very limited funds at the present time. Present balance is £671.74 including the £312 donated by Christchurch Lions for the purchase of Third Party and Trustee’s liability insurance.
Members can review all CMS transactions (HSBC Paying-In Book)

- Secretary’s Report
Membership has increased slightly to (35) with several potential new members looking to join following a small advert in the local “Eye” magazines.
Annual membership fee is £15.
Members who use the workshop facilities at Greystone’s House must also be members of HCA.
Workshop attendance in the 12 months to the AGM has increased by 54% over the prior 12 months from 420 to a total of 655 individual visits.
Financial contribution to HCA including attendance (workshop and Room#1), HCA membership and estimated revenue from tea/coffee purchases has increased to £1382 up from £824.
Mudeford Club lunches continue to be well supported and the introduction of a monthly raffle together with events such as the summer BBQ have contributed to purchase of tools and consumables for the workshop.
The intention is to develop this approach to fund raising by undertaking small projects in return for a donation to CMS while not losing sight of the primary function of the workshop as a friendly environment in which to meet up.
