Old School Refurbishment

We organised a small work party last weekend to replace the locks on the (3) access doors from the car park directly into the lower hall and while we were there, stripped out some of the unwanted cupboards. There is still more preliminary work that can be done prior to getting the lease in place such as clearing out old wood / rubbish and removing the cupboards under the windows. We also have to clear a space for the "new" kitchen which has been donated to us.

Old School Open Day - Sat 29th Feb

The Highcliffe Residents Association (HRA) are holding an Old School House Open Day on Saturday 29th February. 10.00am to 3.00 pm. This will be a good opportunity for us to re-visit the lower hall workshop and to demonstrate our on-going support for the project with the BPC Community Engagement Team in attendance. (Please see a copy of their email below).

Hope you can find time to drop in to the Old School House on Saturday. .

Lease

HRA arranged a meeting with their solicitor earlier this week to begin work on the draft proposal. In the meantime, CMS have identified a solicitor who is willing to act on our behalf on a pro-bono basis.

Donations

Thanks to CMS members donations and fund raising initiatives, our finances are now in a much better shape than they were at the end of last year.

Dear Member,

Please find the February 2020 Newsletter on the HRA CIC website at: https://highclifferesidents.co.uk/uploads/newsletters/february2020.pdf
You are invited to join your committee on Saturday 29th February 2020 for an Open Day at the Old School from 10:00am to 3:00pm with representatives from BCP Council in attendance from 11:00am to learn your views. This is a chance for you to see the progress made in the building over the last 6 months by the team of volunteers as well a chance to have your voice heard. Details for the Open Day can be found on the HRA website at:
https://highclifferesidents.co.uk/
Regrettably the Quiz Night with Fish and Chips that was scheduled for Friday 6th March 2020 has had to be cancelled. However, there will be opportunities to hold such an event in the future if there are any volunteers to organise and run it. If you are interested in helping out in this way, please contact one of the committee or send an email to:
[email protected]
The next Quarterly Members Meeting (QMM) will be held in the Old School on Monday 9th March 2020. An agenda for the meeting will be available shortly on the website under the ‘Meetings’ tab at the URL below:
https://highclifferesidents.co.uk/meetings
Membership renewal is due by 1st April 2020. If you pay your subscription by Standing Order which is still active, you do not need to take any further action. However, if you pay your subscription by cash, cheque or BACS, please download the application or renewal form from the HRA website at the URL below and return the completed form to the HRA at the address on the form.

We hope that you will continue to support the HRA. A strong membership enables a powerful voice to campaign on issues to the benefit of the residents and the local area.

Kind regards
