t's that time of year when the BBQ gets put away, Saga Louts take their holidays and shedders realise they haven't got long to make all those family Christmas presents!

(appologies for using the c-word)
The shed BBQ was a great success raising £256 after costs for our shed funds. Part of the money was used to buy a chuck for the #1 woodworking lathe.
We were lucky with the weather on the day and did not have to implement plan-b.
My only complaint was Brian Vaughn's T-shirt which brought on a migraine (I'm sure it wasn't the beer)
Many thanks to Gerry and Margret and everyone else who helped out.
And we are planning another opportunity for everyone to contribute to shed funds with an Autumn Skittles Event sometime around the end of October
Mudeford Club
Our next Mudeford Club lunch is booked for Friday 30th September.
Start time as usual at 12.00 noon
Address: 161 Stanpit, Christchurch BH23 3LY
Workshop at the School
It's starting to look like a workshop!
The new benches are in place, the two woodworking lathes are mounted and ready to use (Jeff is building a couple of wall mounted tool holders for them) and we have installed racking for our tool store along the back wall.
Windows are painted inside and out (just one more small window to do) security locks and window bars installed and there is an external power point available for charging buggies, bikes etc.
We are currently sorting through our tools, most of which have now been brought over from Greystones, to determine which ones to keep and which ones to pass on.
The plan is to offer any duplicate tools to members first in return for a donation to shed funds.
In truth we will have a fully equipped workshop with band saws, chop saws, mitre saws, lathes (wood and metal working), a milling machine, planer thicknesser, drill press, routers, hand power tools, hand tools for luddites like me along with ample bench space and good lighting.......and a place to sit and drink tea!
Rob Heels is planning on starting a Wendesday morning session (currently the workshop is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings) starting around the end of September.
If you are interested in coming along on Wednesdays, please let Rob know on 07547 922246 or at this email address [email protected]
New Members
A big shed welcome to two new members Peter Aird and Gerry(with a G) Bird
And best wishes for a speedy recovery to several members who have been out of action recently, John Blakeman, John MacBean, Peter Sanderson and Ian Hartnell
So, if you haven't been to the shed for a while, why not drop in and see how far we have come since taking on the lease in April.
Sing along to the well known tune:
If you go down to the shed today, you're in for a big surprise
If you go down to the shed today, you'll never believe your eyes
For every tool that ever there was
Is here today for certain because
Todays the day ..........get a mention in Shed News for the best ending!
See you all soon
