Mudeford Club

Our next lunch at the Mudeford Club in Stanpit is booked for this coming Friday 22nd July.

161 Stanpit, Christchurch Dorset. BH23 3LY
As usual, start time is 12.00 noon and for the benefit of any new members, we will be in the bar on the right as you face the front of the building.

New Workshop at the School
It's starting to look like a workshop and we now have the essential ingredient for a shed - the new kitchen has arrived!
This week's task list will include installing the water supply and drain.
Water heater, tea urn and dishwasher arriving soon.
Many thanks to TVT for providing the necessary funding!
The external windows have been freshened up with a coat of paint which should prevent any further deterioration of the frames.
The two "blue" woodworking lathes are set up ready to go on custom build stands and new benches and tables are taking shape.
Several of our members have been out of action recently, John Smith with shingles, John Blakeman with some ongoing health issues, Peter Sanderson has broken his leg and I just heard from John Fisher that he and his wife both have covid!
Here's wishing them all a speedy recovery......
.......and after dodging the bullet until now, your's truly also has covid.
Interestingly, Mrs P who tested positive on the same day has a nasty head cold while I had aches and pains and a very sore throat.
With covid on the rise again, I would advise keeping a stock of tissues, throat sweets and ibuprofen to hand and maybe a bottle of single malt - not making any recommendations here you understand....
Seems like a long time since the Highcliffe Food Festival weekend.
We had a table outside the school which attracted a fair amount of interest and raised £70+ through donations in return for some of our surplus tools.
It was interesting watching the reactions of the ladies when their husbands spotted the tools - some support and encouragement but often a look of horror followed by a swift move away dragging said husband with them!

If there is anyone from the shed left standing by the end of the week, we are going to need a drink or two
See you at Mudeford!
