OK, that's the boring bit finished with, now what about our new machinery:
We have brought (3) machines from storage, the Axminster Mini-Mill, a belt and disk sander and a floor standing bandsaw.
The sander is currently having the electrics checked out and together with the band saw will be available to use very shortly
Bob Mackinnon is close to finishing the refurb on the Myford -7 Lathe which will also be available soon.
We have acquired a small compressor suitable for airbrushing and a wall mounted air filter which we hope to have up and running in the not too distant future.
Mick Gillam donated a hand held belt sander and John Blakeman gave us a load of pen blanks in assorted woods.
Jeff is planning to turn a few pens and both Jeff and John would be happy to show how it's done if anyone else wants to give it a go.
Basic pen kits are around £3 each and we have all the equipment needed.
For anyone using electrical equipment requiring trailing leads in the workshop, we have (2) weighted covers for the cables to prevent them becoming a trip hazard.
Twelve months on from securing the lease, there is still work to be done but we are close to having the workshop we had always envisaged from the very beginnings of CMS.
Thanks to everyone for helping make it possible!
And finally a reminder that it is our Mudeford Club lunch on Friday 31st March.
161 Stanpit, Mudeford, Christchurch, BH23 3LY
All members / potential members are welcome.
Start time is 12 o/clock as usual
Mystery / interesting tools always welcome
Oh, and did I mention that we have another donation of tools to rummage through - everyone likes a good rummage or so I have heard!
